DC-IPOA Overview

DC-IPOA version 1.0 provides support for Internet Protocol Over ATM (IPOA) Client and Server, as defined by the IETF RFCs and Internet drafts.

Functions And Features

DC-IPOA includes the following functions.

• Support for RFC 2225: Classical IP and ARP over ATM (which supersedes, but is fully back compatible with, RFC 1577) and RFC 1755: ATM Signalling support for IP over ATM
  • ATMARP Server
  • ATMARP Client
• LLC-multiplexed connections (RFC 1483)
• Support for the following MIB tables (RFC 2320):
  • ipoaArpClientTable (row creation not supported)
  • ipoaArpSrvrTable (row creation not supported)
  • ipoaArpRemoteSrvrTable
  • ipoaVcTable
  • ipoaConfigPvcTable
  • ipNetToMediaTable
• Support for SVCs and PVCs
• Multiple VCCs between two ATMARP clients
• Transmission of packets with specified QoS
• Support for local IP applications running over MAC or IP interface
• A flexible data forwarding interface, allowing the use of an OEM-supplied data forwarder implementation tailored to the hardware platform.
