Your Role
Besides some small-scale maths-oriented coding my experience at reading and writing code was very
limited. Without doubt, one of the most intriguing and rewarding processes has been coming to understand how a large,
complex piece of software operates, from the lowest levels to the most abstract. My main project also involved an
unusually in-depth knowledge of computing and the CPU; I’d mostly used PCs for work and games so it was eye-opening
to get to grips with these concepts and work with a variety of computer systems."

Intern Student
Pre-university Internships are a great way for you to spend a summer, or even up to a year, in a flexible working
environment. Students play an important part in our success and make a real and significant contribution
to our projects, and we hope they will return as permanent employees.
Don't think you'll be making tea all day! From day one, you'll work on complex and challenging
programming assignments within a team of creative and hard-working professionals. Just as with our new
graduate or postgraduate starters, you will be assigned a mentor and a manager, who will give you a high
level of support expert guidance throughout your entire time with us.
Throughout your placement, you will have regular status meetings with your manager who will work
with you to ensure you have the skills and tools required to do a great job. You will receive regular
feedback on your performance including a comprehensive review before you leave. If you do well, we will
offer you sponsorship during your first year at university.
