Alameda, Ca: July 15, 2008. MetaSwitch today announced that Satel, the new
telecommunications division of the Telemicro Group, a leading television and radio broadcast conglomerate,
has signed a multi-million dollar contract to deploy MetaSwitch softswitch solutions for its new network
serving residential and business subscribers in the Dominican Republic. The highly-reliable, field-proven
MetaSwitch CA9024 Call Agents and MG2510 Media Gateways will be deployed nationwide to provide Class 4 and
Class 5 call termination services in the top minute-generating country in the Caribbean.
Satel was seeking a robust, scalable softswitch that could be immediately deployed,
delivering next-generation telephony services, as well as setting the stage for advanced IP Multimedia Subsystem
(IMS) enabled services. The MetaSwitch solution provides a flexible and reliable carrier-class system that also
serves as the foundation for Satel's prepaid calling services offer to serve the high demand in the Dominican Republic,
the top Caribbean country in MOU.
The MetaSwitch Professional Services group will be providing on-site support to assist Satel
in project management, network design, and deployment. "We were looking for an experienced vendor to help us
