Alameda, CA: April 5, 2006.
MetaSwitch, a leading vendor of next generation carrier switching and
applications solutions, today announced that its Canadian customers will be
the guests of honor at an interactive executive conference, MetaSwitch Forum
2006, scheduled for April 5 and 6 at the Doubletree International Plaza Hotel
in Toronto, Ontario. More than 40 attendees from telecommunications firms
across Canada are scheduled to attend to hear the latest news from MetaSwitch
senior managers and share their success stories deploying new services with
MetaSwitch.
One year after launching a high-profile Canadian customer and
business expansion, MetaSwitch has gained rapid popularity in the Canadian telco
market with more than 20 percent of independent telcos having already adopted
the MetaSwitch softswitch solution. The user forum is designed to reaffirm
MetaSwitch's support for and commitment to Canadian telcos and to provide a
venue for customers to interact with high-ranking MetaSwitch executives.
John Lazar, MetaSwitch CEO, will keynote the user forum and much of the senior
management team – including VPs of sales, marketing and support – will be on
hand as well.
"With their proven success in North America, MetaSwitch was
the clear choice for us a year ago, and they remain so today," said Ian
Stevens, COO of Execulink Telecom and Past President of the Canadian Independent
Telephone Association (CITA). "The fact that there is sufficient momentum
here to host a user group meeting specifically focused on the needs of Canadian
telcos speaks volumes for MetaSwitch's momentum North of the border, and is very
reassuring for us as we look to the future."
"During the past year, MetaSwitch's support for TDM and VoIP
services has allowed Nexicom to launch next-generation communications services
to our DSL and cable customers," said John Downs, General Manager of Nexicom
Systems Inc. "MetaSwitch's continued technology commitment to keeping ahead
of the industry with a robust IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, while
keeping in mind carriers' need to drive business efficiencies, makes them a clear
choice for Canadian service providers. We are pleased that MetaSwitch has backed
up its commitment to its Canadian customers by hosting this event."
"Our very first customer was a Canadian telco, so we've been
familiar with and committed to this market for many years. We recognized a real
need among Canadian service providers for a full-featured, next-generation
switching solution that would scale to meet the needs of carriers of all sizes,
and we worked to fill that void," said Mike Ward, MetaSwitch senior vice
president of sales. "We are very pleased with our rapid success in Canada
and remain committed to this market as part of our North American growth strategy.
As part of that commitment, we have established local sales presence and an
Ottawa-based support center dedicated to serving the Canadian market."
