"Join the Parade" is the theme for MetaSwitch Forum V - three information-packed and energy-filled days
The fifth MetaSwitch Forum will be held at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans, Louisiana,
April 22-24, 2008. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to network with peer MetaSwitch customers and company
executives as well as learn first-hand about the latest in technology and innovation from exciting and motivating
guest speakers.
The general sessions for this year's event will include a CEO Report, technology vision and
roadmap highlights, and engineering and marketing tracks, as well as a state of the industry panel and a
Q & A session with the executive team. In addition to the general sessions, attendees will be able to chose
from a wide variety of breakout sessions such as "The Wireline Phone is Dead, Long Live the Wireline Phone",
"Drumming Up Business", and "Portals to Success in a Crazy, Mashed-up Web 2.0 World" just to
name a few.
Back by popular demand, the Forum will again feature a partner-sponsored MetaSwitch Expo and
reception. With more than 30 companies exhibiting, attendees will visit booths showcasing a variety of products
and services that interoperate with the MetaSwitch, from access gear to IP phones.
The Forum will wrap up with MetaSwitch U, a series of in-depth classes taught by the MetaSwitch
training team. MetaSwitch U picks up where our in-house training leaves off, with sessions covering a range of
topics including creating web 2.0 Mash-ups to managing SIP phone deployments to marketing next generation services
to SMBs and consumers.
MetaSwitch is very excited to host a wealth of dynamic speakers at the Forum. This year's line
up includes:
- Dave Axam, Director of Transformation, BT Design
- Gary Kim, Editor in Chief, IP Business News
- Archie Manning, Former New Orleans Saints Quarterback
- Don Valentine, Founder, Sequoia Capital
- Joe Weinman, Strategic Solutions Vice President, AT&T
In keeping with the MetaSwitch tradition, fun is always part of the package! Kicking off
the Forum on Tuesday night is a party at Mardi Gras World where our guests will see where Mardi Gras happens
the other 51 weeks of the year! Thursday afternoon, our guests will have a choice of activities to participate
in including a swamp tour, New Orleans city tour, a walking tour of the French Quarter or a trip to the National WWII Museum.
