Customer Profile - One Communications

One Communications is the largest privately-held competitive local exchange carrier in the U.S. serving more than 160,000 businesses throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Upper Midwest regions with more than 2,200 employees and $800 million in annual revenue.

Formed through the merger of three prominent CLECs, One Communications was tasked with integrating its formerly independent network architectures. After rigorous testing and evaluation, it selected Metaswitch as its common platform for integrated voice and data communications and has begun migrating existing customers from its legacy switches, leveraging the Metaswitch Professional Services team to provide a range of migration related services. The Metaswitch distributed softswitch platform now supports a variety of standalone and converged voice and data solutions for both its business and carrier customers. As a result of these efforts, One Communications is poised to experience substantial switch center savings, a rapid ROI, and the ability to more efficiently serve a growing array of converged voice and data services to its customers.
