Entrisphere Implements H.248 Interface in the BLM 1500 Using Data Connection's Megaco/H.248 Protocol Stack
Chicago, IL: June 7, 2005. Data Connection Limited (DCL), the world's
leading independent provider of communications protocol software, announced
today that Entrisphere has used Data Connection's DC-Megaco/H.248 software to
implement an H.248 interface in their BLM 1500 Broadband Loop Multiplexer multi-service
access platform.
DC-Megaco/H.248 is part of Data Connection's family of VoIP protocol offerings.
These comprise portable source code, full reference designs, test applications,
customization tools, and pre-integration with all the leading OS vendors. The
protocol solutions, combined with Data Connection's superior customer service
organization and unrivaled commitment to quality, provide customers with significant
project cost savings and the quickest time to market.
Entrisphere's BLM 1500 multi-service access platform offers major incumbent
telecom carriers flexibility and control to deliver a full range of circuit
and packet based voice, video, and data applications while migrating their access
networks to a simpler and more cost-effective architecture. The use of DC-Megaco/H.248
allows the BLM 1500 to participate in distributed packet voice switching networks,
specifically in Line Media Gateway to Media Gateway relationships.
"Scalability and flexibility were the leading requirements for Entrisphere,
therefore our DC-Megaco/H.248 solution was the right fit for the task at hand,"
said Phil McConnell, Data Connection's CEO.
"Our customers are moving to packet voice and softswitching, and an integrated
H.248/Megaco interface is critical to meeting their requirements. We were able
to complete implementation in the BLM 1500 and certify it as interoperable with
the Nortel Succession softswitch on time and on budget," said John Neese,
VP of engineering at Entrisphere. "We congratulate Data Connection on their
DC-Megaco/H.248 software and the excellent support provided by their team."
Data Connection's other VoIP solutions include DC-SIP, DC-MGCP, and DC-SBC.
All these solutions are designed and developed in accordance with Data Connection's
renowned architecture for portability, scalability and fault tolerance.
