Data Connection Ltd. Advances IMS Deployment Readiness at IMS Forum Plugfest IV Interoperability Event

London, UK: March 18, 2008. Data Connection Ltd. (DCL), the world's leading independent provider of communications protocol software, announced today that it has successfully participated in the IMS Forum's IMS Plugfest™ IV interoperability test event which was held on February 25-29 at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab in Durham, NH. DCL was represented with its IMS-enabled DC-SBC product, which is a portable software solution for session border control that includes full P-CSCF, IBCF, and BGF/I-BGF IMS functions.

"The IMS Forum and the participants of Plugfest IV have once again provided an ideal proving ground for IMS solutions," said Phil McConnell, CEO of DCL's Networking Protocols Division. "The IMS functions of our portable DC-SBC platform successfully completed a wide range of application and protocol level testing which better enables our OEM customers to deliver industry-compatible IMS solutions."

Data Connection's DC-SBC software solution is licensed to a number of network equipment providers to enable session border control and P-CSCF, BGF, IBCF and I-BGF functionality in IMS networks. At the Plugfest event, DC-SBC took part in a variety of test cases ranging from simple registrations and calls through to fixed-mobile convergence scenarios, presence applications and interaction with RACS (Resource and Admission Control Subsystem).

The IMS Forum's Plugfest IV is the fourth in a series of events designed to develop reliable interoperability and certification for IP Multimedia Subsystem services and applications. Because of IMS Plugfests, service providers can be confident that they can deploy their IMS NGN investments quickly and effectively. Areas tested include billing interfaces, for charging IMS services; applications running over multiple network configurations; and interoperability of operation support systems (OSS/BSS).
