Presence Server

Metaswitch's Colibria SIP SIMPLE Presence Server empowers operators and service providers to lead the way in the converged services market. Through sharing presence and contact data among multiple services, true end-user value can be achieved. Presence allows the user to see which services are available for any given contact, to understand the mood and status of that contact, and to see that contact's profile, picture and even location.

Presence underpins the GSMA’s Rich Communication Suite (RCS) and allows Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC) users to see who is online. It enriches VoIP, allowing users to see who is available and who is on the phone. In multi-device solutions it even allows routing engines to route communications to the location where a user is most likely to respond. Presence operates anywhere IP is available, and with the use of Presence Network Adaptors is even able to pick up the presence state of traditional devices like standard mobile phones. All of the above simplifies and enlivens the user experience and promotes communication driving operator revenues.

Metaswitch’s Colibria Presence Server is a powerful, fully standard OMA compliant SIP server that controls and manages every aspect of presence. It is deployed globally and has proven carrier scale. Its flexibility allows it to be deployed in any SIP and IMS environment. 

Instant Messaging (SIP)

Deployable across pre-IMS and IMS, in mobile, fixed and converged networks, the Colibria SIP SIMPLE IM Server offers the flexibility and feature-set that has made Metaswitch’s Colibria portfolio a market leading messaging pioneer. With seamless interworking to existing solutions (SMS, MMS and XMPP), the addressable subscriber community size is maximized for the operator. The Colibria SIP SIMPLE IM server can be deployed as a standalone messaging service, or to enrich any existing SIP based service such as IP Telephony with Instant Messaging.

The IM Server is fully compliant with the requirements of IETF, 3GPP, Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) and IMS SIP standards, meaning that it will seamlessly integrate with mobile and converged networks. 

Network Address Book (INAB)

Metaswitch’s Colibria Intelligent Network Address Book (INAB) simplifies the user's experience, staying in touch with all of their social and messaging communities while delivering the core functionality of a Network Address Book. It utilizes leading edge XDMS 2.0 technology, allowing a user's contact list to be synchronized from SIP clients and devices using an XCAP interface. It can also synchronize contacts from existing SyncML solutions, allowing the service provider to reuse deployed mobile address book backup solutions.

The INAB can easily import existing contacts from external communities, such as social networks and public IM communities, into a user's address book. The INAB user is sure that all of their contacts from various sources are aggregated into one dynamic address book that is automatically kept up to date.

Additionally, Network Address Book public profiles are searchable, allowing a user to search for other people based on name, country, gender, etc. Users can also search for interest groups based typically on a topic. The user can manage their contact list and their public profile through a simple web interface. The Network Address Book can be deployed in pre IMS, IMS and RCS (Rich Communication Suite) networks
