Enterprise Extender

SNAP-IX provides Enterprise Extender (EE) functionality, also known as HPR/IP, which is IBM's recommended strategy for running SNA over IP networks. Indeed, now that IBM have announced that the IBM 37x5 FEP is to be discontinued, EE will be the only method for communicating SNA to an IBM mainframe.

Enterprise Extender allows SNAP-IX to communicate over IP directly to a Host or Parallel Sysplex that supports EE. This allows you to run your 3270, LU0 banking applications and LU62 APPC applications unchanged over an IP network directly to your mainframe.
