MetaSwitch Executive Wins Circle of Excellence Award

Carol Daniels, Marketing Director, is the Second MetaSwitch Employee to be Honored by MultiService Forum

Alameda, CA: November 21, 2005. MetaSwitch, a leading vendor of next generation carrier switching solutions, today announced that its director of marketing, Carol Daniels, has been recognized with a Circle of Excellence award from the MultiService Forum (MSF), a global association committed to developing and promoting open-architecture, multiservice switching systems.

As one of the premier forums for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) standards development, the MSF is currently the only forum conducting real-world interoperability testing of IMS-based networks. Paul Drew, MetaSwitch product manager, has been instrumental in the development of the IMS-aligned open architecture standard endorsed by the MSF, and co-authored an MSF white paper entitled "Next Generation VoIP Architecture," (available at: http://www.msforum.org/techinfo/reports/MSF-TR-ARCH-001-FINAL.pdf). Drew won the Circle of Excellence award in 2003 for his contributions as chair of the MSF's Architecture Working Group.

The MultiService Forum Circle of Excellence Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the MSF and the multiservice switching industry. The contributions of the MSF's volunteers both in time and technical expertise are critical in fulfilling the MSF's mission and in shaping next generation networks. The Circle of Excellence Award winners embody the commitment and dedication that makes the MSF a leader in developing and promoting open-architecture solutions.

Daniels received the award for leading the effort to increase visibility for the MSF and raise the organization's profile with key industry influencers and decision-makers. In addition, Daniels has been an active member of the MSF's Marketing Awareness and Education Committee's Public Relations Sub-Committee, which oversees all of the MSF's communications efforts.

"Carol Daniels is an excellent example of how an MSF member can align the goals of MSF with their day job such that MSF can reap substantial benefits," said Neil Anderson, chair of the Marketing Awareness and Education Committee at MSF. "Carol has generously given her time and talent to support the MSF and her tireless work on the Marketing Awareness and Education Committee has helped raise our profile with industry observers and the media."

"It's an honor to be chosen for the Circle of Excellence award," said Daniels. "The MSF does great work in promoting open and interoperable network architectures for the telecom industry. It's a real privilege to be able to apply my skills to help the organization achieve its mission of accelerating the development and deployment of open communications systems."
