The solution allows AIS to securely and reliably connect to other operators in Thailand using IP interconnect, and provides a clear path to broad adoption of network functions virtualization (NFV). “Metaswitch’s network interconnect solution enables us to rapidly develop innovative services, secure in the knowledge that we can quickly and cost-effectively scale to meet demand and maintain the quality required by our rapidly expanding user base,” said Weerawat Kiattipongthaworn, senior executive vice president of operations at AIS. “The stability, flexibility, security and linear scalability of the Metaswitch software solution help us manage our costs while keeping service levels high.” With more than 38 million subscribers and 97 percent nationwide coverage, AIS and its subsidiaries operate a variety of telecommunication-related services, including a high-speed mobile network, international direct dialing, data communications and call centers. To cost-effectively cope with increasing demand, AIS has deployed both Metaswitch’s Perimeta vSBC and the MetaView Service Assurance Server (SAS) for end-to-end traffic analysis and problem resolution. Perimeta simultaneously provides critical functions that include security, traffic management, protocol interworking and SIP header manipulation, all of which scale without affecting network performance or resiliency. The SAS greatly facilitates troubleshooting and remediation should problems arise in service delivery, and gives AIS valuable information about user experience to help ensure that SLAs are being met. “As the largest and most innovative mobile carrier in Thailand, AIS’s service agility and velocity shouldn’t be constrained by legacy technologies,” said Graeme MacArthur, executive vice president at Metaswitch. “Moving from TDM to IP using the Metaswitch virtualized network interconnect solution helps AIS ensure that its infrastructure will support the most advanced services it can develop and deliver, and that it does so with the high levels of quality that its users have come to expect.” ![ais-logo.jpg](https://www.metaswitch.com/hs-fs/file-1936259726-jpg/Logos/Third-party/ais-logo.jpg "ais-logo.jpg") ### Topics - [Perimeta SBC](https://www.metaswitch.com/about/press-releases/tag/perimeta-sbc), - [Service Assurance Server](https://www.metaswitch.com/about/press-releases/tag/service-assurance-server), - [MetaView](https://www.metaswitch.com/about/press-releases/tag/metaview), - [Interconnect](https://www.metaswitch.com/about/press-releases/tag/interconnect) ### Related Post ![](https://www.metaswitch.com/hubfs/Stock%20images/5G-nfv-automation-1.jpg) [Metaswitch Collaboration with VMware Enables Automated Telco Core Infrastructure](https://www.metaswitch.com/about/press-releases/metaswitch-collaboration-with-vmware-enables-automated-telco-core-infrastructure) Posted By Metaswitch on February 25, 2019 Fully automated solution from Metaswitch sharply reduces operational costs for Telcos LOS ALTOS, Calif. – February 25, 2019 – Cloud native ...
