Rural Telco Providers to Get Innovative Strategies, Solutions at NTCA EXPO '06

Arlington, VA: January 9, 2006. Industry leaders will experience the newest telecom innovations at the leading trade show for rural telecom providers, the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association's (NTCA) EXPO '06 in San Diego, February 7-8. NTCA's EXPO will feature over 100 industry leaders demonstrating leading technologies and services to the rural telecommunications sector.

The unique multi-vendor Joint Solutions Pavilion which debuted last year is back for EXPO '06. The Joint Solutions Pavilion features a partnership of several vendors in the industry that will collaboratively demonstrate a comprehensive "full-service solution" for telecom needs. The IP Integrated Solutions Pavilion returns this year, featuring a live demonstration of Internet protocol television (IPTV) over both copper and fiber. The pavilion will feature a presentation of a working IPTV network, from the head end to the set-top box. This display will demonstrate interoperability and delivery of new and dynamic systems over a broadband access network, such as advanced IP-based voice, video and data services.

"There is no better place for rural telco leaders interested in IP services delivery to view first-hand an end-to-end, full service solution, than the IP Integrated Solutions Pavilion" comments Frank Wiener, Vice President Field Marketing for participating vendor Calix. "This format for demonstrating telecom technologies provides attendees a real-time view of an operational system." Other pavilion partners include ADC, Calix, MetaSwitch, Optical Solutions and Tut Systems.

Registration is complimentary for credentialed members of the press. For registration, contact Caitlin Colligan, NTCA public affairs manager (colliganc@ntca.org.) For additional information about NTCA's 2006 Annual Meeting & EXPO and Rural Telecom Summit, visit www.ntca.org.
