Service Providers Look to Define Their Decade at Metaswitch Forum 2010

Record-setting attendance expected in Nashville, May 17 to 20

Alameda, Calif., April 28, 2010 — Add the Metaswitch Forum to the list of events that will help define this decade. While past decades have been defined for us, by events as memorable as 12 seconds of flight on a cold December morning, the first moon landing, Jedi space operas and the fall of the Berlin Wall, this current decade is more completely in our own hands: the hands of broadband-centric, social networking, communication-rich individuals. With the future of the telecom industry itself an urgent common interest, attendees from four continents and more than 200 carriers will converge on the Metaswitch Forum in Nashville, Tenn. to discuss their own specific goals in this currently uncharted era.

Now in its seventh year, the Metaswitch Forum offers customers, partners and industry opinion formers an up-close and personal opportunity to learn about leading product and service offerings and advances in the operation, security, management and maintenance of their integrated networks.

This year's packed agenda commences with pre-conference workshops on innovation, subscriber migration, service deployment and the engineering secrets behind the industry’s leading VoIP infrastructure solutions. For the three days that follow, attendees will be treated to more than 30 sessions that cover topics from network security, through hosted service roll out, to wireless service integration and the latest in advanced voice applications. These sessions will be anchored by keynote presentations from Dr. Robert Ballard, Ocean Explorer and the man who found RMS Titanic; Kevin McGuire, vice president of Technology at the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association; and Ken Paker, vice president of Network Services at TDS Telecom.

This year's Expo will feature more than 50 exhibitors, supported by Platinum Sponsor ADTRAN, Gold Sponsors Aastra, Cisco Systems, Edgewater Networks and Occam Networks, and Silver Sponsors Acme Packet, Calix, Cordell, Enablence Systems and Polycom.

"As the leading supplier of IP Business Gateways and SIP Trunking solutions, the Metaswitch Forum is a natural fit for ADTRAN. We are pleased to continue our leadership role as the platinum sponsor for this important industry event," said Gary Bolton, vice president of Global Marketing, ADTRAN. "The Metaswitch Forum provides a unique atmosphere where leading technology suppliers, like ADTRAN, can interact with customers, share the latest technologies, and ultimately influence how the carrier landscape develops."

"Metaswitch Forum is now a recognized industry event," said Steve Gleave, vice president of Marketing for the Carrier Systems Division of Metaswitch. "It is made so not only by the breadth and candor of our conference sessions but also by the fabulous support of our customers, partners and sponsors. We're excited to embark on another decade with them all."
