The world’s communication habits have evolved rapidly in the past decade, and the widespread deployment of wireless broadband radio access technologies, such as LTE and Wi-Fi, has enabled companies such as Google, Facebook and Apple to introduce new and innovative communication products that compete directly with those traditionally offered only by wireless operators.
In the face of this change, wireless operators need to modernize their central offices and transform them into data centers hosting innovative and extensible service offerings on extensible, modern and open platforms. Platforms that expose APIs and SDKs through which the operator and/or the developer communicate can innovate new services that generate new sources of revenue and excitement for the wireless operators.
Our VoLTE + VoWiFi solution consists of all the necessary network functions implemented as VNFs. The core has been developed using a cloud-native architecture, enabling operators to launch solutions of any size rapidly and elastically. Our solution can grow and shrink within minutes by the click of a button!
The solution also supports the concept of network slicing, which enables operators to spin up individual instances of any/all network functions and group them as a “network slice” that is dedicated to serve a particular customer and/or meet specific use case requirements such as capacity, performance, privacy, multi-tenancy, service, etc.
All VNFs in the solution expose and interact with other network functions using the standard 3GPP IMS interfaces. The IMS network functions included in the solution are: P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, E-CSCF, IBCF, IMS-AGW, TrGw, VoLTE TAS, SCC-AS, IP-SM-GW, MFRC, MRFP, ePDG, AAA and ENUM. A Service Assurance Server (SAS), for always-on analytics and troubleshooting, is also included. Optional components include: HSS, Service Entitlement Server, MGCF and MGW.
