The Cyber Security Engineer role at Metaswitch

Metaswitch has a complex global IT infrastructure that spans multiple sites and continents, providing services and support for over 800 employees and over 600 customers worldwide.  Our Cyber Security Engineer will be a part of the IT infrastructure team and will work with various operational teams and stakeholders across the business to define our information security policy and put in place appropriate controls to ensure that the policy is implemented.

Your day to day tasks will vary, but could include:

  • Implementing security tools and controls within our IT infrastructure.
  • Embedding information security into key processes, procedures and working practices.
  • Performing regular security reviews, risk assessments and audits.
  • Managing and supporting customer and supplier information security requirements and risk processes.
  • Developing, delivering and measuring Information Security awareness across the business.
  • Refining our Information Security standards, policies and procedures across the company.


This is a full-time role based in our corporate head office in Enfield, North London.  You will report to our Head of IT Infrastructure, with responsibility for

  • day to day management of our existing Information Security tools
  • identifying areas for improvement, recommending and deploying additional security technologies across the business
  • working with our customer account teams to ensure compliance with our customers’ security requirements
  • application of security controls and risk mitigation actions.


For this position, we need a graduate who

  • has experience in a security management position
  • has hands-on IT experience in security technologies (for example DLP technology, firewall configuration, IDS/IPR systems, etc.)
  • ideally has a recognised industry certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP or similar)
  • is a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • is highly organised and possesses good time management skills.
