The 100% cloud native MetaView Service Assurance Server (SAS) platform is the most comprehensive integrated tool for diagnostics and analytics of rich multimedia communications on both fixed line and mobile infrastructures.

SAS collects every signaling packet, every rule applied and every routing decision made by individual Metaswitch network functions and stores them for proactive analysis and deep packet protocol decode. SAS bolsters call diagnostics with all information related to user endpoints and interfaces, including SIP registrations and Accession client interactions.

SAS operates without the need for expensive probes, independent collectors or switch/router span ports/mirrors, and completely avoids performance degradation of the network functions it monitors.

Metaswitch’s unique distributed database design scales to billions of call records while providing sophisticated real-time queries to allow technicians to pinpoint records of interest by time, source, destination or error code — all with just a few keystrokes and the click of a button.

SAS provides detailed diagnostics for all calls, regardless of the protocols used at any step, and presents them in user-friendly interface. Technicians can use these detailed call traces to diagnose many common configuration, network and interoperability problems, saving time and money. With simple search criteria, engineers can examine a particular call or series of calls, gather high-level information, then drill down to see protocol flow ladder diagrams and finally the packet decode information.

As a cloud native virtualized network function, SAS can scale elastically on-demand, spinning up new instances wherever and whenever additional analytics capacity is required. Being under the control of a common NFV management and orchestration (MANO) platform, SAS capacity can be dynamically deployed when other new Metaswitch platforms are instantiated and can start collecting call records automatically without any additional manual provisioning steps. This zero-touch approach to global network diagnostics is increasingly important as VoLTE, video chat, messaging and even IoT endpoints use this common architecture but with capacity demands and traffic patterns as yet unseen in any communications infrastructure.
