Fourth Annual MetaSwitch Forum Attracts Record Attendance

Conference and Expo Draws Over 450 Telecom Industry Leaders To Learn From the Experts and Interact with their Peers

Orlando, FL: April 20, 2007. MetaSwitch today wrapped up its fourth annual MetaSwitch Forum where a record number of attendees benefited from three days of informative conference sessions and a lively partner expo area. The event also included countless opportunities for networking with peers from companies that spread across three continents.

Keynote speakers at the event included: William Blessing, senior vice president, corporate strategy and development at Embarq; Robert Rich, a noted independent telecommunications industry analyst; and Paul Silverstein, a director of equity research in communications infrastructure at Credit Suisse.

A featured panel discussion on the "Future of Telecommunications" was moderated by Gary Kim, editor-in-chief of IP Business News, FatPipe and ChannelVision. Panelists included MetaSwitch Chief Executive Officer John Lazar, analyst Rob Rich, Embarq's William Blessing and Cisco Senior Manager Service Provider Programs Karen Campagna.

"The last 12 months have been tremendously satisfying. MetaSwitch has achieved record growth and brought significant innovation to the telecommunications marketplace, but even more exciting has been hearing at the conference what customers have accomplished with our technology," said MetaSwitch CEO Lazar. "These telecom leaders have deployed high-quality, advanced offerings that dramatically improve the lives of their residential customer base and boost productivity for their business customers."

Educational opportunities for the more than 450 attendees at the MetaSwitch conference, whose theme was "Communities of Innovation," included 37 sessions covering alternative access, enhanced services, business issues, IP network migration and operations, a detailed technical roadmap and marketing of new advanced services. Eight of the sessions were held under the auspices of "MetaSwitch U," which were presented by the MetaSwitch training team on topics such as CALEA lawful intercept, VoIP troubleshooting and emergency standalone operations.

When not in conference sessions, the telecom professionals from nearly 200 companies visited the expo area where 30 MetaSwitch partners provided a wide range of technology demonstrations. Event sponsors included Cisco, Aastra Telecom, Calix, Occam Networks, CustomCall Data Systems, Ditech Networks, Pannaway Technologies, Rodopi Software, Tellabs, Zhone Technologies, Acme Packet and InnoMedia.

The occasion also provided the setting for the independent MetaSwitch User Group's annual meeting where Jim Funk from TCT West in Wyoming, was re-elected as Board Chairman.

"The relationship between MetaSwitch and its customer base is typified by the influence of the User Group. We are a valued source of two-way feedback between MetaSwitch and its customers and we greatly appreciate the extent to which they involve us in their direction," said Funk. "All parties see this as an ongoing partnership committed to success."
