MetaSwitch Expands Partner Program with 14 New Partners, Focus on End-To-End Solutions

MetaSwitch broadens scope of established interoperability partner program to speed carriers' migration to IMS within a Multimedia-Enhanced Telephony Architecture (META)

Chicago (GLOBALCOMM): June 5, 2006. Today MetaSwitch, a leading vendor in next-generation carrier switching and application solutions, announced it was expanding its established, highly successful Partner Program in order to meet the demands of all types and sizes of carriers, from large global service providers to smaller regional carriers. In addition to signing 14 new partners, MetaSwitch is building a range of complete end-to-end deployment scenarios in its Alameda, California testing and demonstration facility. The expansion demonstrates MetaSwitch's commitment to enhancing its carrier customers' ability to quickly and cost-effectively migrate to IMS based on its Multimedia-Enhanced Telephony Architecture (META) for IP service delivery.

Vendors recently joining the MetaSwitch Partner Program include Allied Telesyn, Calix, Cordell, CustomCall Data Systems, Dash911, IBM/Micromuse, Integra5, IP Unity, Newport Networks, Mpathix, Nuera, Rodopi Software, TeleSciences, and Vapps. The new program members add to the dozens of existing partner solutions from access equipment, to application servers, to OSS and billing solutions, and even wholesale Inter Exchange Carriers (IXCs). In addition, MetaSwitch is expanding the scope of the program to include complementary service providers such as IP Inter Exchange Carriers (IP-IXCs), hosted application services and system integrators. Together, MetaSwitch Partner Program members provide the industry's most complete set of proven network and solution elements within a single consistent architectural framework, META, which carriers can combine to speed their migration to an IMS-based service structure.

"Service providers of all sizes are at a crossroads as they look to integrate legacy and next generation network elements into a more IP-centric service structure," said John Lazar, president and CEO for MetaSwitch. "Expanding our established partner program will ultimately mean faster time-to-market, ROI, and ease-of-use for all parties involved. By offering deployment scenarios - complete and fully-documented multi-vendor solutions - we'll be able to offer a higher level of commitment from ourselves and our partners in ensuring guaranteed interoperability."

"We are pleased with MetaSwitch's initiative to offer complete solution scenarios as it addresses a pressing requirement from carriers for proven inter-working and simplified deployment," said Rick Johnston, vice president of business development for Calix. "As our customers transform their networks to support a growing and diverse array of services, our ability to work with MetaSwitch's award-winning softswitch platform is invaluable."

MetaSwitch executives and customers will also be speaking on several panels as part of the Telephony Magazine IP Summit, Telecommunications Magazine Telecom U, OSP Expo and IEC Communications Forum conference tracks.
