MetaSwitch Introduces Self-Service CommPortal for Configuration of Communication Services

MetaSwitch leverages Web 2.0 to deliver highly customizable user interface for next generation service delivery

San Jose, CA (Spring VON 2007): March 19, 2007. MetaSwitch announced today general availability of a new communications Web portal that enables service providers to deliver a streamlined, dynamic Web experience that offers outstanding usability for subscribers to purchase and use next generation voice communications services. MetaSwitch's new CommPortal leverages Web 2.0 standards and best design practices to deliver an exceptionally intuitive and tightly integrated user interface to a wide range of services delivered from the award-winning UC9000 unified communications platform, as well as calling features provided by the MetaSwitch Call Agent, including Visual Voicemail, Recent Calls List, Contact Management, Find Me Follow Me, Call Forwarding and Selective Call Screening. CommPortal's advanced architecture provides outstanding customizability, offering service providers exceptional scope to style CommPortal Web pages so as to match their corporate look and feel, and to embed materials such as banner ads and promotional offers that are frequently updated.

"In today's highly competitive, rapidly evolving communications market, services providers need a platform that offers the flexibility to quickly configure and deliver new applications as well as lay the groundwork for new service creation," said Andrew Randall, vice president of marketing for MetaSwitch. "MetaSwitch's new CommPortal streamlines the service delivery process, providing an outstanding level of customizability for the end user and their service provider."

With CommPortal installed, both residential and business end users can self-subscribe to various managed services offered by their provider, eliminating the need for time consuming and costly site visits for new service activation. A dynamic, streamlined user-centric interface presents all the users' communications settings just a click or two from the main 'dashboard' screen. As a result, customers can also now more easily manage and expand existing services to better meet their changing needs via a single log-in for all applications.

"Service providers need platforms that provide greater flexibility in terms of how they develop, package and deliver new communications services in response to customer demands and an evolving technology environment," said Craig M. Clausen, senior vice president and COO, New Paradigm Resources Group, Inc. "MetaSwitch clearly understands how to support their customers' dynamic service creation needs by providing a mechanism that streamlines how services are consumed by the service provider's end customer."

MetaSwitch will be demonstrating CommPortal at booth 1027, Spring VON 2007.
