Metaswitch Opens New UK Office in Cambridge

Product development team graduates to top academic location

San Francisco, CA and Enfield, UK, March 28, 2013 – Metaswitch Networks, the company that is powering communication networks into a software-centric future, today announced the opening of a new product development facility in Cambridge, UK.  Located in the heart of the University of Cambridge, the new Metaswitch office will house current employees, new recruits and interns.

Opening this month, the new facility is located next door to the Computer Laboratory, an academic department within the university that not only includes Computer Science, but other aspects of Engineering, Technology and Mathematics. Given Metaswitch’s history of hiring top class graduates from diverse backgrounds, the location provides an ideal base for the company’s continued commitment to developing the industry’s best software engineers.  Over three hundred companies and commercial laboratories specialising in computing and advanced technology are already concentrated in the area.

“We have a long-standing association with Cambridge, with many of our graduate intake coming from the University of Cambridge,” says John Lazar, CEO of Metaswitch. “We are both centres of technology excellence and innovation, so Cambridge was a logical choice for our expanded product development team.”
