Tricom Selects MetaSwitch for Advanced Technology

Alameda, CA: March 22, 2007. MetaSwitch announced today that Tricom has selected MetaSwitch's distributed softswitch solution - including the CA9020 call agent, UC9000 application server, and several MG3510 media gateways - to update its infrastructure across the Caribbean and the United States. MetaSwitch, a leading vendor of next-generation carrier switching and application solutions, will provide services for Tricom's triple-play offer - telephony, broadband and television. Tricom, with over 600,000 lines, operates the largest cable system in the Dominican Republic, as well as a sizeable broadband service.

Tricom was seeking a robust, scalable softswitch that could be immediately deployed, and provide a platform for migration to the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture.
