Carrier Management Systems, Inc., a leading developer of telecommunications network analysis management software (NAMS), today announced the release of their newest software product NAMS Firefly CS, a complete solution that provides combined AMA and SS7 network visibility at a price all companies can afford. The new release will be showcased today at the MetaSwitch Forum 2009 Expo.

NAMS (Network Analysis Management System) is an integrated hardware and software system that gives telephone companies detailed network visibility by combining AMA and SS7 on the same platform. "CMSI's goal in developing the NAMS Firefly product was to provide superior AMA and SS7 based applications for real time call record searching, revenue assurance, traffic engineering, and fraud detection on a single and affordable platform," said Paul Bilberry, President of CMSI.

"We are very pleased to have CMSI exhibiting at the MetaSwitch Forum 2009," said Andy Randall, vice president of marketing at MetaSwitch. "Our customers really value the opportunity to talk with interoperability partners in the relaxed environment of this event."

NAMS Firefly AMA collects all switch-generated data (call records, traffic measurements, console messages, etc.) in real-time and stores it in a centralized location. This data is then imported into an Oracle database and accessed by rich web-enabled applications to provide assistance in the areas of call record searching, traffic engineering, fraud detection, phantom traffic/access avoidances, interconnection agreements, balance of wireless traffic, network optimization, capacity planning, and customer service.

NAMS Firefly SS7 collects SS7 network-generated data from one or more link sets and stores them in a centralized location on industry grade servers. The ISUP and SCCP/TCAP messages are parsed and imported in real-time into an Oracle database. In addition, the five primary ISUP messages associated with a call (IAM, ACM, ANM, REL and RLC) are linked together and parsed against the LERG to form a single viewable ISUP Session Record (ISR). These records are utilized to provide ISUP, TCAP, and ISR message search and reporting, SS7 message trailing, in-progress call trap/tracing, phantom traffic reporting, TCAP query validation, link occupancy monitoring, and fraud detection and prevention.

NAMS Firefly CS collects AMA and SS7 messages are simultaneously collected and correlated on one platform and presented in user-friendly applications for better network visibility. Every AMA record has associated SS7 messages which can be correlated to the AMA messages to insure that all billable calls are in fact generating appropriate billing records.
