MetaSwitch Opens Office in Texas ``Telecommunications Corridor''

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2002--Expansion follows success in Central/Southwest region of its VP3000 Next Generation Class 5 Switch, to be shown at SWCTA Annual Conference

In response to growing demand for its VP3000 next generation Class 5 Switch, MetaSwitch today announced that it has opened a third North American office in the Dallas, Texas area - known as the "telecommunications corridor". Telecom veteran Bob Harvey, formerly of Unisphere Networks and Lucent Technologies, will direct the office.

This new location will serve primarily to provide sales support to service provider customers deploying the MetaSwitch VP3000, the world's first fully fault-tolerant next generation Class 5 switch. The VP3000 reliably delivers combined broadband and legacy TDM access together with over 45 subscriber features in a compact (14U), NEBS-compliant chassis.

"Our growing success in this region, with both smaller and larger carriers, was the key factor leading us to expand our presence with this office," said Harvey. "In addition, our proximity to other telecommunications companies in the Dallas area helps us to build partnerships to deliver end-to-end solutions to our customers."

Service providers interested in learning more about MetaSwitch's products and activities in the region should contact Bob Harvey at 817-427-0016 or by email at rbh@metaswitch.com. MetaSwitch will also be exhibiting at the SouthWest Competitive Telecommunications Association (SWCTA) Annual Conference in Austin, Texas, April 8-10, where it will be showing the VP3000 and participating in a conference panel discussing "Softswitch Technology".
