Microsoft Teams Direct Routing

  • Required to connect Teams users to the PSTN
  • Employs SIP Trunking to network operators
  • Needs a certified Session Border Controller

What is it?

Employing SIP trunking, Direct Routing (DR) allows interconnection of the PSTN with the Microsoft cloud-based phone system, facilitating calls between Teams users and mobile or fixed line telephone subscribers anywhere in the world. This is achieved by providing standardized interoperability between customer premise-based PBX equipment, operator telephony application servers and their IMS core.

How do we help?

Complex configuration and inherent interworking issues can cause implementation challenges and security risks when connecting Microsoft Teams with a service provider's PSTN network. Microsoft certified for direct routing from the Teams phone system, our Perimeta Session Border Controller (SBC) eliminates these issues, providing a robust, scalable and flexible solution for deploying SIP trunking.
