Metaswitch Recognized as Global Market Leader in Virtualized SBC
Award-winning Perimeta vSBC enabled 43.5 percent of global virtual sessions in 2015
Network software provider Metaswitch Networks® is the market leader in global shipments of virtualized session border controllers (vSBCs) according to Synergy Research Group’s Q4 2015 Infrastructure Market Tracker-SBC Market Share Report. Metaswitch’s flagship Perimeta product shipped 43.5 percent of global virtual sessions, more than twice that of its closest competitor.
“Our research shows that while others, including Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Oracle/Acme Packet, Sonus and ZTE continue to develop and deliver on their NFV capabilities, Metaswitch’s early move on SBC virtualization has provided a first-to-market advantage for them,” said Jeremy Duke, founder and chief analyst of Synergy Research. “In 2015, Synergy Research measured Metaswitch outshipping their competitors by a wide margin for this new class of SBC.”
